Job Summary
The Accounts Assistant supports the finance department by maintaining accurate financial records, processing financial transactions, assisting with bookkeeping, and ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting standards. The role requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work with financial data accurately.
Key Responsibilities
- Record day-to-day financial transactions in the accounting system.
- Prepare and process invoices, receipts, payment vouchers, and journal entries.
- Maintain accounts payable and accounts receivable records.
- Reconcile bank statements and company accounts regularly.
- Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Monitor outstanding receivables and follow up with customers for payments.
- Prepare payment schedules and coordinate vendor payments.
- Maintain proper filing and documentation of financial records.
- Assist in GST/VAT, TDS, and other statutory compliance activities, as applicable.
- Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation.
- Verify expense claims and ensure compliance with company policies.
- Assist in payroll processing, if required.
- Perform other accounting and administrative duties assigned by the Finance Manager.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Commerce (B.Com), Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 1–3 years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping (fresh graduates may also be considered, depending on the role).
- Basic knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software such as Tally, Busy, Zoho Books, or ERP systems.
- Knowledge of GST, TDS, and basic taxation is preferred.
