Job Summary
We are looking for a detail-oriented and highly responsible Accountant to manage end-to-end accounting operations for our FMCG skincare distribution business. The role involves handling complete accounting, GST compliance, stock reconciliation, banking operations, distributor accounting, and financial reporting for our Delhi and Gurgaon business entities.
The ideal candidate should have strong experience in FMCG / retail distribution accounting, inventory management, GST compliance, and day-to-day operational accounting. Candidate must be capable of independently managing accounts for a fast-growing distribution business supplying products primarily to chemist and retail outlets.
Key Roles & ResponsibilitiesAccounts & Bookkeeping
- Maintain complete books of accounts for both business entities (Delhi & Gurgaon GSTs)
- Record and verify all sales, purchase, expense, debit note, credit note, and journal entries
- Maintain accurate ledgers of customers, suppliers, transporters, and expenses
- Ensure timely accounting entries and proper documentation
- Handle day-to-day accounting operations independently
GST & Taxation
- Prepare and file GST returns accurately and on time (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, annual returns, etc.)
- Perform monthly GST reconciliation with purchase and sales data
- Match GSTR-2B with purchase invoices and identify discrepancies
- Coordinate with CA for audits, assessments, notices, and tax-related matters
- Maintain proper compliance records and documentation
- Assist in tax audits and statutory compliance
Stock & Inventory Management
- Maintain accurate stock records for all products and brands
- Perform stock reconciliation between physical stock and software records
- Monitor inventory movement, damages, expiry, shortages, and adjustments
- Coordinate with warehouse and sales teams for stock accuracy
- Generate stock reports, ageing reports, and slow-moving inventory reports
- Handle batch-wise inventory tracking where required
Banking & Financial Operations
- Perform daily bank reconciliations
- Manage payment entries, receipts, NEFT/RTGS/IMPS transactions
- Follow up for outstanding payments from retailers and parties
- Maintain proper records of collections and deposits
- Monitor cash flow and payment schedules
- Prepare vendor payment plans and outstanding reports
Retail Distribution Accounting
- Manage accounting related to chemist and retail outlet supplies
- Maintain party-wise outstanding and ageing analysis
- Handle schemes, discounts, claims, and distributor adjustments
- Verify sales returns, expiry returns, and claim settlements
- Coordinate with sales team for reconciliation and payment tracking
MIS & Reporting
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly MIS reports
- Generate sales reports, outstanding reports, stock reports, and profitability reports
- Support management with financial analysis and operational reports
- Maintain proper filing and accounting records for audits and management review
Coordination & Compliance
- Coordinate with transporters, vendors, warehouse team, and sales staff
- Ensure proper invoicing and E-way bill documentation
- Maintain compliance with accounting standards and company policies
- Support management in improving accounting systems and operational controls
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, or Finance
- 2–5 years experience in FMCG / retail distribution accounting preferred
- Strong knowledge of GST, TDS, bookkeeping, and inventory accounting
- Experience in handling multiple GST registrations/entities
- Proficiency in Tally, Busy, Excel, and accounting software
- Good understanding of stock reconciliation and distributor operations
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently and handle pressure in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Candidate Profile
- Prior experience in FMCG, skincare, cosmetics, pharma, or retail distribution industry
- Experience dealing with chemist/retail distribution accounting
- Good communication and coordination skills
- Organized, disciplined, and trustworthy professional with strong ownership mindset
Pay: From ₹20,000.00 per month
