Job Summary
The Purchase & Store Keeper is responsible for managing procurement activities, maintaining inventory, receiving and issuing materials, and ensuring accurate stock records. The role supports uninterrupted operations by ensuring timely purchasing, proper storage, and effective inventory control.
Key Responsibilities
- Source and purchase materials, equipment, and supplies as per company requirements.
- Obtain quotations, compare prices, and negotiate with vendors.
- Prepare purchase orders and follow up with suppliers for timely delivery.
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming materials against purchase orders and invoices.
- Maintain accurate records of stock receipts, issues, transfers, and balances.
- Monitor inventory levels and initiate replenishment to avoid stock shortages.
- Organize and store materials safely following company standards.
- Conduct periodic physical stock verification and reconcile discrepancies.
- Coordinate with suppliers, warehouse, accounts, and user departments.
- Maintain proper documentation for purchase and inventory transactions.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and audit requirements.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly inventory and purchase reports.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 2–5 years of experience in purchasing, stores, or inventory management.
- Knowledge of inventory management systems and ERP software (SAP, Oracle, Tally, etc.) is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and MS Office.
