Job Summary
The Billing Executive cum Insurance Executive is responsible for managing patient billing, insurance claim processing, cash collections, payment reconciliation, and coordination with insurance companies/TPAs. The role ensures accurate billing, timely claim submissions, and efficient resolution of insurance-related queries.
Key ResponsibilitiesBilling Responsibilities
- Prepare and generate patient bills accurately and promptly.
- Verify patient details, services rendered, and charges before billing.
- Process cash, card, UPI, and online payments.
- Maintain billing records and daily collection reports.
- Handle billing inquiries and resolve discrepancies.
- Coordinate with doctors, nursing staff, and administration for billing clarification.
- Ensure compliance with hospital billing policies and procedures.
Insurance Responsibilities
- Verify patient insurance eligibility and coverage.
- Coordinate with insurance companies and TPAs for pre-authorizations.
- Prepare and submit insurance claims with required documentation.
- Follow up on claim approvals, rejections, and pending cases.
- Maintain records of claims, approvals, and settlements.
- Assist patients in understanding insurance benefits and claim procedures.
- Resolve insurance-related issues and claim denials.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate billing and insurance records.
- Prepare periodic reports on collections, claims submitted, approvals, and outstanding payments.
- Ensure confidentiality of patient and financial information.
- Support audits and compliance requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Business Administration, Healthcare Management, or related field.
- Certification in medical billing or health insurance (preferred).
Experience
- 1–3 years of experience in hospital billing, medical billing, or insurance processing.
- Experience handling TPAs and health insurance claims is preferred.
Skills Required
- Knowledge of hospital billing procedures and insurance claim processing.
- Familiarity with billing software, HIS, and MS Office.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Problem-solving and follow-up skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Salary Range (India)
- Fresher: ₹15,000–₹25,000 per month
Pay: ₹10,075.76 - ₹32,509.65 per month
