Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced Assistant Manager – Production to manage and supervise day-to-day production activities, ensure timely production, maintain quality standards, and effectively manage the shop-floor team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and monitor daily production as per project requirements and production schedules.
- Supervise production activities across furniture manufacturing, fabrication, CNC, carpentry, finishing and assembly.
- Allocate manpower and machines to achieve production targets.
- Ensure production is completed within defined quality, cost and timeline requirements.
- Read and understand production drawings and ensure accurate execution.
- Coordinate with Design, Purchase, Stores, Quality, Project and Dispatch teams.
- Monitor raw material availability and minimize material wastage.
- Identify production bottlenecks and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure proper use of machines, tools and safety equipment.
- Maintain production reports, daily output records and manpower reports.
- Train and guide supervisors, engineers and shop-floor workers.
- Ensure 5S, safety and discipline on the production floor.
- Monitor rework, rejection and production efficiency.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Diploma / BE in Mechanical, Production or related field.
- 6–10 years of experience in production, preferably in furniture manufacturing / retail interior industry.
- Strong knowledge of furniture manufacturing and shop-floor operations.
- Good manpower handling and leadership skills.
- Knowledge of CNC, fabrication, carpentry and finishing processes will be preferred.
- Ability to manage production targets and deadlines.
- Good communication, coordination and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Candidate:
Someone who has strong hands-on shop-floor production experience and can independently manage manpower, production planning and execution.
