Role Overview
We're looking for a Sales Development Representative (SDR) to join our growing Sales & Business Development team. This role is critical to our growth strategy — you'll be the first point of contact for prospective clients, qualifying leads, booking discovery calls, and building relationships that lead to lasting business partnerships.
You'll work closely with our senior sales leadership to identify and nurture opportunities within our target verticals (fashion/textiles exporters, pharmaceutical companies, electronics manufacturers, jewellery exporters, and engineering firms). This is not a high-volume transactional role — it's relationship-driven and strategic.
Key Responsibilities
Outbound Prospecting
Conduct targeted outbound calls and emails to prospective clients in PMEX's key verticals
Research companies and decision-makers using tools like Apollo.io, LinkedIn, and industry directories
Craft personalized pitches that speak to client pain points (export costs, transit times, customs delays)
Follow up systematically and manage pipeline activity in PMEX Flow
Lead Qualification
Identify qualified prospects that match PMEX's ideal client profile
Ask discovery questions to understand logistics needs, current pain points, and budget authority
Determine fit and feasibility for PMEX's services (air, ocean, road, customs, consolidation)
Log all activity and qualify leads using a consistent framework
Booking & Scheduling
Secure qualified discovery calls between prospects and Prasang (Senior Leadership) or Beauty (Account Management)
Coordinate scheduling across multiple calendars and time zones
Provide call briefing materials to the closing team with key prospect context and pain points
Relationship Building
Build rapport and trust with prospects before handoff to closing team
Act as a brand ambassador for PMEX — represent our commitment to excellence and service
Maintain professional communication standards across email, phone, and WhatsApp
Pipeline Management
Maintain accurate, up-to-date records in PMEX Flow (CRM/task system)
Track outreach metrics: calls made, emails sent, meetings booked, qualification rate
Contribute to weekly/monthly pipeline reviews and forecast discussions
Identify trends: which verticals respond best, which messaging resonates, which channels work
Required Qualifications
Experience: 1–3 years in sales development, business development, or inside sales (B2B preferred)
Communication: Fluent in English; Hindi/Bengali a plus
Comfort with Cold Outreach: Confident making cold calls and handling rejection professionally
Research Skills: Able to identify prospects, research companies, and craft personalized outreach
CRM/Tools: Comfortable learning new tools (PMEX Flow, Apollo.io, n8n workflows) — familiarity with Salesforce, HubSpot, or similar is a plus
Logistics/Export Background: Not required, but experience in logistics, customs, or export/import is valued
Attitude: Coachable, detail-oriented, driven by results, and energized by relationship-building
Nice-to-Have Skills
Experience in logistics, freight forwarding, or customs brokerage
Familiarity with Indian export sectors (textiles, fashion, pharma, electronics, jewellery)
Knowledge of export councils (AEPC, EPCH, TEXPROCIL) and industry networks
Experience with outbound calling tools (Aircall, Twilio, VAPI) or AI-assisted dialing
Basic SQL or data analysis skills (for prospect list building)
What We Offer
Competitive Salary+ performance bonus
Growth Opportunity: Clear path to Account Executive or Account Management roles
Modern Tech Stack: Work with automation (n8n), AI voice agents (VAPI), and integrated CRM tools
