A Operations Management Factory Manager is responsible for overseeing the overall production and operations of a manufacturing unit or factory.
Main Roles & Responsibilities
- Managing daily factory operations and production activities
- Ensuring production targets are achieved on time
- Supervising workers, supervisors, and department heads
- Maintaining product quality as per company standards
- Monitoring machine performance and maintenance schedules
- Ensuring safety rules and company policies are followed
- Controlling production costs and reducing wastage
- Planning manpower, shifts, and workflow management
- Coordinating with departments like Purchase, Stores, Quality, HR, and Dispatch
- Preparing production reports and MIS reports for management
- Handling vendor and customer coordination when required
- Monitoring inventory, raw materials, and finished goods
- Implementing productivity improvement and process optimization
- Ensuring compliance with labor laws and factory regulations
- Training and motivating employees for better performance
