Regional Sales & Distribution Manager – Cosmetics

About the Role
We are a growing cosmetics company looking for a driven Sales & Distribution professional to build our distribution network from the ground up across Rajasthan and neighbouring states. The ideal candidate has strong relationships in the FMCG/cosmetics channel and knows how to appoint distributors, onboard retailers, and turn a blank territory into a productive market.
Key Responsibilities
- Distributor & Dealer Appointment: Identify, evaluate, and appoint distributors, super-stockists, and dealers across assigned territories.
- Network Expansion: Build and grow retail coverage — general trade, cosmetic stores, salons, chemists, and modern trade outlets.
- Primary & Secondary Sales: Drive primary sales to distributors and ensure healthy secondary sales (sell-out) at the retail level.
- Territory Planning: Map markets, set beat/route plans, and define town-wise and district-wise expansion targets.
- Relationship Management: Maintain strong working relationships with channel partners; resolve issues around pricing, schemes, credit, and supply.
- Scheme & Promotion Rollout: Implement trade schemes, promotional offers, and product launches at the ground level.
- Market Intelligence: Track competitor activity, pricing, and product trends; report insights to management.
- Collections & Compliance: Ensure timely payment collection and adherence to company commercial policies.
- Reporting: Submit regular sales reports, distributor performance data, and territory growth updates.
Requirements
- Experience: 3–8 years in FMCG / cosmetics / personal-care sales, with proven experience in distributor/dealer appointment and channel development.
- Education: Graduate in any discipline; MBA in Marketing/Sales is a plus.
- Network: Existing contacts within the cosmetics or FMCG distribution channel in Rajasthan and nearby states (strongly preferred).
- Travel: Willing to travel extensively across the region.
- Languages: Fluent in Hindi; working knowledge of English. Regional language familiarity is an advantage.
- Other: Two-wheeler/four-wheeler and valid driving licence preferred.
Skills
- Strong negotiation and relationship-building ability
- Self-starter who can open new markets independently
- Good understanding of distribution economics (margins, schemes, ROI for distributors)
- Comfortable with sales targets and field-driven work
- Basic proficiency in MS Excel / sales reporting tools
