Key Responsibilities-
1. Product Innovation & Concept Development
- Develop innovative builder hardware products based on market research and customer needs.
- Generate new product ideas through brainstorming and trend analysis.
- Create product concepts, sketches, mood boards, and design presentations.
- Design products with a focus on functionality, aesthetics, durability, and ease of installation.
- Identify opportunities to expand the company's product portfolio.
2. New Product Development (NPD)
- Lead the complete New Product Development (NPD) process from concept to commercialization.
- Develop products as per domestic and international customer specifications.
- Reverse engineer customer samples and competitor products.
- Improve existing products through design enhancements and value engineering.
- Coordinate prototype development and product validation.
3. Product Design & Engineering
- Prepare product specifications and technical requirements.
- Develop 2D drawings, 3D models, assemblies, and exploded views.
- Select suitable materials considering strength, finish, cost, and manufacturability.
- Ensure compliance with engineering standards and dimensional tolerances.
- Prepare Bills of Materials (BOM), product datasheets, and assembly instructions.
4. Market Research & Trend Analysis
- Study international trends in architectural and builder hardware.
- Monitor competitor products and emerging technologies.
- Analyze customer feedback to identify product improvement opportunities.
- Research new materials, finishes, and manufacturing techniques.
5. Prototype & Testing
- Coordinate prototype manufacturing with production and tool room teams.
- Conduct fitment, functionality, durability, and usability testing.
- Evaluate prototype performance and implement necessary design modifications.
- Ensure products meet customer expectations before mass production.
6. Production & Manufacturing Support
- Work closely with production teams during new product launches.
- Resolve design-related manufacturing issues.
- Optimize designs for efficient production and reduced manufacturing costs.
- Support tooling, machining, casting, forging, polishing, plating, and assembly processes.
7. Cross-Functional Collaboration
Coordinate effectively with:
- CAD Design Team
- Tool Room
- Production Department
- Purchase Department
- Quality Assurance
- Sampling Department
- Marketing & Sales
- Export Documentation Team
- Vendor Development Team
8. Product Documentation
Prepare and maintain:
- Product Specifications
- Design Files
- Technical Drawings
- Product Catalog Information
- Engineering Change Notes (ECN)
- Revision History
- Product Development Reports
- Costing Support Documents
9. Quality & Compliance
- Ensure products comply with customer specifications and international quality standards.
- Participate in root cause analysis for product quality issues.
- Support corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Ensure designs are manufacturable, safe, and reliable.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree / Diploma in Product Design

Experience
- 5–10 years in product design or new product development, preferably in builder hardware, architectural hardware, furniture hardware, locks, metal products, or manufacturing industries.
