- Prepare the operation theatre before surgical procedures by ensuring all equipment, instruments, and supplies are available and sterile.
- Assist surgeons, anesthetists, and the surgical team during operations.
- Maintain strict aseptic and infection control protocols throughout surgical procedures.
- Perform surgical instrument counts before, during, and after procedures to prevent retained items.
- Prepare and position patients safely for surgery according to the procedure requirements.
- Monitor patient safety during surgery and promptly report any abnormalities to the surgical team.
- Handle, sterilize, and maintain surgical instruments and OT equipment.
- Assist in receiving, labeling, and handling specimens for laboratory examination.
- Ensure proper documentation of surgical procedures, consumables, and patient records.
- Coordinate with CSSD, Nursing, Biomedical, and other departments for smooth OT operations.
- Maintain cleanliness and readiness of the OT for subsequent procedures.
- Adhere to hospital policies, patient safety standards, and quality protocols.
- Respond effectively to emergency and trauma surgeries whenever required.
- Participate in departmental training, quality improvement initiatives, and continuing education programs.
Requirements
- B.Sc. Nursing / GNM with a valid Nursing Council Registration.
- Minimum 1–3 years of Operation Theatre experience (Freshers with OT training may also be considered).
- Sound knowledge of surgical instruments, sterilization techniques, and infection control practices.
- Ability to work in rotational shifts, weekends, and emergency duties.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and patient care skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in General Surgery, Orthopedics, Gynecology, Urology, ENT, Laparoscopic, or Emergency surgeries.
- Knowledge of NABH standards and OT documentation.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) or Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification is an added advantage.
Pay: ₹18,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
