Position Summary
Ferrum Tubes is seeking disciplined and production-oriented Shift Supervisors to oversee manufacturing operations during assigned shifts across various process departments of the seamless steel pipe plant.
The role is responsible for ensuring achievement of planned production targets, maintaining process discipline, coordinating manpower and machine utilization, monitoring downtime and production losses, and ensuring accurate shift-wise production reporting across all process steps.
The ideal candidate should possess strong shop-floor coordination skills, practical manufacturing knowledge, and the ability to drive production performance in a fast-paced industrial environment.
Production Monitoring & Shift Operations
· Monitor and control shift-wise production activities across assigned departments and process lines.
· Ensure execution of daily production plans as per quantity, size mix, quality standards, and delivery priorities.
· Coordinate with operators, maintenance, quality, stores, and dispatch teams to ensure uninterrupted production flow.
· Track machine-wise and process-wise output during the shift.
· Ensure optimal utilization of manpower, machines, tooling, and consumables.
· Escalate production bottlenecks and operational issues promptly to management.
Process Control & Shop Floor Supervision
· Supervise production activities at each process stage such as Piercing, Pilgering, Soluntion Annealing, Straightening, Pickling, Finishing, Threading/End Finishing, Testing & Inspection, and Dispatch Preparation.
· Ensure adherence to SOPs, process parameters, and safety procedures.
· Monitor cycle times, delays, rejections, and process deviations.
· Verify line clearances and production changeovers.
Downtime & Loss Monitoring
· Record and monitor machine downtime, breakdown time, setup/changeover losses, utility interruptions, and production delays.
· Coordinate with maintenance teams for quick restoration of equipment.
· Analyze recurring stoppages and report improvement opportunities.
Reporting & Documentation
· Prepare accurate shift-wise reports including production achieved vs target, machine utilization, downtime summary, rejections and quality issues, pending orders/work-in-progress, and shift handover notes.
· Maintain process logs, production registers, and digital reporting systems.
· Ensure timely communication between incoming and outgoing shifts.
Quality & Safety
· Ensure compliance with plant safety standards and PPE requirements.
· Support quality control activities and ensure production as per specifications.
· Reduce rework and rejection through process discipline.
· Participate in safety audits, toolbox talks, and improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications
· Diploma / ITI / B.Tech in Mechanical, Metallurgical, Production, or related field preferred.
· Minimum 3–8 years of experience in manufacturing operations.
· Experience in steel, pipe, tube, rolling mill, or heavy engineering industries preferred.
· Prior experience in shift operations or shop-floor supervision is desirable.
Required Skills

· Candidates with experience in Seamless Pipe Plants, Tube Mills, Rolling Mills, Steel Manufacturing Plants, Heat Treatment Operations, or Industrial Production Facilities.

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
