Role Summary
Responsible for administration, performance, availability, and security of cloud-hosted
MySQL databases across enterprise platforms. The role supports production workloads
in private/hybrid cloud environments with high availability and compliance requirements.
Key Skills (Must-Have)
MySQL database administration (cloud/on-prem)
Performance tuning, query optimization, troubleshooting
High Availability: replication & failover
SQL proficiency
Backup, restore & Disaster Recovery (DR)
Database security (access control, authentication, encryption)
Linux (RHEL/CentOS)
Database monitoring & alerting
Strong incident/problem management skills
Good-to-Have
Exposure to private / hybrid cloud platforms
Understanding of storage, networking, virtualization
Experience in regulated / enterprise environments (BFSI preferred)
Scripting / automation exposure (Shell / Python)
Core Responsibilities
Administer and maintain MySQL databases on cloud platforms
Ensure high availability, performance, and reliability
Implement and manage replication, backup, and DR
Perform capacity planning and performance tuning
Apply security controls and compliance standards
Execute version upgrades and patching
Monitor database health and resolve incidents proactively
Collaborate with application, cloud, and infrastructure teams
Works independently on standard issues; escalates complex design changes
