Job Summary
We are looking for a responsible and technically skilled Site Engineer – Civil with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in civil construction. The candidate will be responsible for supervising daily construction activities, coordinating with contractors and workers, monitoring work progress, ensuring quality standards, and supporting the project team in completing construction work within the planned timeline.
The ideal candidate should have good knowledge of civil construction practices, site supervision, drawing interpretation, quantity measurements, and day-to-day site coordination.
Key Responsibilities1. Site Supervision
- Supervise daily civil construction activities at the project site.
- Ensure construction work is carried out according to approved drawings and specifications.
- Monitor the work of contractors, subcontractors, workers, and other site teams.
- Ensure proper execution of work as per project requirements and planned schedule.
- Identify site issues and report them to the Project Engineer / Project Manager.
2. Construction Execution
- Monitor activities such as excavation, foundation, RCC, masonry, plastering, flooring, waterproofing, painting, and finishing works.
- Ensure proper sequence of construction activities.
- Check dimensions, levels, alignments, and other technical requirements.
- Coordinate with different teams to ensure smooth progress of work.
3. Drawing & Technical Coordination
- Read and understand architectural and structural drawings.
- Ensure work is executed according to the latest approved drawings.
- Identify discrepancies between drawings and actual site conditions.
- Coordinate with senior engineers and consultants for technical clarifications.
4. Quality Control
- Monitor the quality of materials and workmanship at the site.
- Ensure construction activities comply with approved specifications and quality standards.
- Identify defective or poor-quality work and report the same immediately.
- Ensure corrective actions are completed properly.
5. Progress Monitoring
- Monitor daily work progress and update the Project Engineer / Project Manager.
- Prepare daily site activity reports.
- Track work against the project schedule and highlight delays.
- Monitor manpower and productivity at the site.
6. Material & Resource Management
- Check the availability of required construction materials at the site.
- Coordinate material requirements with the concerned team.
- Monitor material usage and minimize unnecessary wastage.
- Ensure proper storage and handling of construction materials.
7. Contractor & Labour Coordination
- Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, supervisors, and workers.
- Allocate and monitor work activities as instructed by senior engineers.
- Monitor labour productivity and work quality.
- Communicate site requirements and ensure timely execution of assigned tasks.
8. Measurement & Documentation
- Take measurements of completed works as required.
- Assist in quantity calculations and preparation of material requirements.
- Maintain records of daily site activities and work progress.
- Support senior engineers in checking contractor bills and measurements.
9. Safety Compliance
- Ensure workers follow basic site safety procedures.
- Monitor the use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Report unsafe working conditions and potential hazards.
- Follow company and project safety guidelines.
10. Reporting
- Submit daily and weekly progress updates to the reporting manager.
- Report material shortages, manpower issues, quality concerns, and project delays.
- Maintain proper records of site activities and construction progress.
- Escalate major technical or execution issues to the Project Engineer / Project Manager.
Required Qualifications
- B.Tech / B.E. / Diploma in Civil Engineering.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in civil construction or site execution.
- Good knowledge of civil construction methods and site activities.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings.
- Basic knowledge of AutoCAD and MS Excel is preferred.
- Knowledge of quantity measurement and basic estimation is an advantage.
