Key responsibilities :-
- Design and own the canonical data architecture — the entity relationship model, API contract conventions, security model, and multi-tenant isolation approach that every module is built on top of.
- Review and approve the Technical Architecture & Product Specification documents already produced by Telovas. Identify gaps, improvement opportunities, and implementation risks before a single line of production code is written.
- Establish the development environment: GitHub repository structure, branching conventions, CI/CD pipeline (GitHub Actions + Render/Vercel), linting, testing framework, environment variable management, and code review standards.
- Make all foundational technology decisions: framework choices, database schema design, authentication approach, API versioning strategy, third-party service selections
- Own the security architecture: DPDP compliance design, encryption key management, JWT/refresh token strategy, role-based access control implementation, audit log immutability design.
Must-have experience :-
- 5-10 years of software engineering and architecture experience, including at least 3 years in an architect or technical leadership role where you have taken product-level decisions, not just delivery decisions.
- Exp in designing and shipping at least one SaaS product from scratch — not contributed to a SaaS product, but designed its architecture.
- Deep PostgreSQL expertise: can design a schema from a business requirements description
- Hands-on with Node.js backend and React frontend at the framework level
- Deployed production applications on AWS (specifically EC2, RDS, S3, and at least one of ECS, Lambda, or Fargate). Understands AWS cost optimization at startup scale.
- Has built or reviewed REST APIs at production quality: versioning, error handling, rate limiting, authentication, and documentation.
- Security-first mindset: knows OWASP Top 10, can discuss JWT security tradeoffs, has implemented field-level encryption in a production system.
Good-to-have experience :-
- Prior startup experience with similar role and managed a small team (2-8 developers) and simultaneously contributed to architecture.
- Experience with Indian regulatory API integrations: GSTN, UIDAI, or any government API in the India stack — already knows the quirks (captcha, rate limits, GSP empanelment process).
- Familiarity with ERP integration (SAP B1 Service Layer, Microsoft D365 BC OData, or TallyPrime XML).
Have prior experience in FMCG, pharma, or distribution technology companies will give add-on advatange
Pay: ₹400,000.00 - ₹1,300,000.00 per year
Work Location: Hybrid remote in Hyderabad, Telangana (Hyderabad District)
