About the Role:
FURNIGENCE LLP is seeking a talented and detail-oriented Modular Kitchen, Wardrobe & Furniture Designer / Cutlist Engineer to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing custom modular kitchens, wardrobes, and furniture, preparing detailed production drawings, generating cutlists, and coordinating with the manufacturing team to ensure accurate production.
This role is ideal for someone with a passion for furniture design, strong technical skills, and a good understanding of woodworking and manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities
Design & Development
- Design modular kitchens, wardrobes, TV units, vanities, office furniture, and custom furniture solutions.
- Prepare 2D and 3D design presentations based on client requirements.
- Develop detailed production drawings and manufacturing documents.
- Select suitable materials, hardware, and accessories for each project.
- Optimize designs for functionality, aesthetics, and manufacturability.
Production Engineering
- Generate accurate cutlists, material lists, and hardware schedules.
- Prepare panel optimization and nesting reports.
- Create assembly drawings and installation drawings.
- Coordinate with production teams to ensure design feasibility.
- Verify dimensions and specifications before production release.
Project Coordination
- Work closely with sales, designers, production, and installation teams.
- Clarify design details and resolve technical issues.
- Monitor revisions and update drawings as required.
- Ensure projects are completed within timelines.
Required Skills
- Good knowledge of modular kitchen, wardrobe, and furniture construction.
- Understanding of plywood, MDF, particle board, laminates, veneers, acrylics, and other furniture materials.
- Knowledge of furniture hardware such as hinges, drawer systems, lift-up systems, and wardrobe accessories.
- Ability to read architectural and interior drawings.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Software Skills
Experience in one or more of the following:
- SketchUp
- AutoCAD
- Cabinet Vision
- Mozaik
- PolyBoard
- SolidWorks
- Fusion 360
- Excel
Qualifications
- Diploma or Degree in Interior Design, Furniture Design, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Architecture, or related field.
- Freshers with strong design aptitude are encouraged to apply.
- Experience in modular furniture manufacturing will be an added advantage.
Preferred Experience
- 2–5 years of experience in modular kitchen, wardrobe, or furniture design.
- Experience generating cutlists and production documents.
- Knowledge of CNC manufacturing processes is desirable.
