Position 1: CPT Rig Operator
Role Overview
The CPT Rig Operator will be responsible for operating and managing Cone Penetration Test (CPT)
equipment for subsurface investigations. The role requires hands-on experience with hydraulic systems,
equipment maintenance, and field testing activities while ensuring compliance with safety and quality
standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate CPT rigs and associated hydraulic systems as per project requirements.
- Ensure proper positioning, vertical alignment, and stabilization of the rig before testing.
- Conduct cone penetration tests at the specified penetration rate and monitor test data during operations.
- Perform routine inspections, calibration verification, and preventive maintenance of CPT equipment.
- Coordinate with Site Engineers regarding test locations, testing depths, and project requirements.
- Identify and troubleshoot operational issues related to hydraulic systems, sensors, and testing equipment.
- Ensure safe operation of equipment and adherence to company safety procedures.
- Maintain field records and support accurate data collection activities.
Qualification & Experience
- ITI / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline (preferred).
- 1–2 years of experience in geotechnical investigation works, CPT operations, or related field activities
Skills Required
- Knowledge of CPT testing procedures and equipment operation.
- Ability to handle hydraulic and mechanical systems.
- Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently in field conditions.
- Strong commitment to safety and quality standards
