As a Junior Accountant, you will work under the supervision of senior accounting staff to perform various accounting tasks, such as recording transactions, reconciling accounts, and assisting with financial reporting. Your role involves ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting principles and regulations.
Roles & Responsibilities :
- Assist in maintaining financial records and general ledgers by recording transactions, journal entries, and adjustments accurately and timely.
- Prepare and process invoices, bills, expense reports, and other financial documents for payment or reimbursement, ensuring proper documentation and authorization.
- Reconcile bank statements, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and other financial accounts to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency of records.
- Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, reports, and schedules, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Support budgeting and forecasting activities by gathering financial data, analyzing trends, and preparing variance analyses to identify discrepancies and areas of improvement.
- Assist with the preparation of tax returns, compliance filings, and audit documentation, ensuring adherence to tax regulations, accounting standards, and internal controls.
- Perform account analysis and financial analysis, investigating variances, discrepancies, and anomalies to identify root causes and recommend corrective actions.
- Maintain fixed asset records, depreciation schedules, and inventory records, tracking asset acquisitions, disposals, and depreciation expense accurately.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; CPA or progress towards CPA certification is a plus.
- 0-2 years of experience in accounting or finance roles, preferably in a corporate or public accounting environment.
- Knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and procedures, including GAAP and financial reporting standards.
- Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office applications, particularly Excel and Word, for data entry, analysis, and reporting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to reconcile accounts, analyze financial data, and resolve discrepancies.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in performing accounting tasks, recording transactions, and preparing financial reports.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
