Job Overview
Baseline is looking for an MEP Design Manager with 5–10 years of experience in industrial and commercial projects. The role focuses on leading multidisciplinary MEP design activities, reviewing engineering deliverables, coordinating with clients and consultants.
This is a design-focused role; candidates with primarily maintenance, operations, or facility management experience will not be considered.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing (MEP), Firefighting, and Utility system design activities.
- Review and approve MEP drawings, layouts, engineering calculations, and technical specifications.
- Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, BIM teams, clients, and consultants.
- Ensure design deliverables comply with project requirements, applicable codes, and industry standards.
- Manage project schedules, design deliverables, and resource allocation.
- Review BOQs, equipment schedules, load calculations, and engineering documentation.
- Conduct design reviews and resolve technical issues during project development.
- Support value engineering and design optimization initiatives.
- Oversee multidisciplinary BIM coordination and clash detection activities.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to MEP engineers, designers, and BIM modelers.
- Participate in client meetings, technical discussions, and design review workshops.
- Coordinate with execution teams to resolve design-related site queries.
- Ensure timely submission of all engineering deliverables.
Qualification & Experience
- B.E. / B.Tech / M.E. / M.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline.
- Minimum 5–10 years of experience in MEP design for industrial and commercial projects.
- Experience in engineering consultancy, design consultancy, or EPC design environments will be preferred.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, electrical, and utility system design.
- Experience in reviewing engineering calculations, equipment sizing, BOQs, and technical specifications.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, Navisworks, and other relevant MEP design software.
- Familiarity with BIM workflows and multidisciplinary design coordination.
- Knowledge of applicable national and international design codes and standards.
- Experience in handling multidisciplinary design coordination for industrial and commercial projects.
- Strong leadership, project management, communication, and problem-solving skills.
