Role Overview
We are seeking a dynamic, creative, and student-centered English and social science Teacher to join our faculty. You will be responsible for fostering a love of literature and language while equipping students with the analytical, writing, and communication skills necessary for academic success. This role covers the pivotal transition years from Middle School (Grades 7-8) to the start of High School (Grades 9-10).
Key Responsibilities
Curriculum & Instruction: Design and deliver engaging lesson plans that cover a wide range of genres, including classical and contemporary literature, poetry, drama, and non-fiction.
Skill Development: Teach advanced grammar, syntax, and vocabulary, moving beyond rote memorization to contextual application.
Writing Mastery: Guide students through the writing process—from brainstorming to final revision—focusing on narrative, persuasive, and expository essays.
Critical Thinking: Facilitate Socratic seminars and classroom discussions that encourage students to analyze themes, motifs, and authorial intent.
Assessment: Create and grade diverse assessments (rubric-based essays, creative projects, and standardized test prep) that provide actionable feedback to students.
Classroom Management: Maintain a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that respects diverse perspectives and encourages participation.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in English and Social Science , Masters will be preferable.
