Job Summary:
The VTL Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining Vertical Turning Lathe machines to machine large metal components with precision. The role involves interpreting technical drawings, ensuring product quality, and maintaining safety standards in a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate VTL machines to perform machining operations such as turning, facing, boring, and drilling.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and job orders.
- Select appropriate cutting tools, speeds, and feeds for different materials.
- Monitor machine operations and make adjustments to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
- Inspect finished components using measuring instruments (micrometers, vernier calipers, gauges).
- Ensure adherence to quality standards and tolerances.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of VTL machines.
- Maintain proper documentation of production and quality records.
- Follow safety guidelines and maintain a clean working environment.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- High school diploma or ITI/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Proven experience operating VTL machines (2–5 years preferred).
- Strong knowledge of machining processes and metal cutting.
- Ability to read technical drawings and use precision measuring tools.
- Basic understanding of CNC operations (if applicable).
Pay: ₹16,000.00 - ₹18,000.00 per month
