The Art & Movement Therapist will use creative and body-based therapeutic approaches to support individuals with emotional, psychological, developmental, and behavioral challenges. The role focuses on facilitating self-expression, improving emotional regulation, and enhancing overall well-being through art and movement-based interventions.
Key Responsibilities1. Therapeutic Interventions
- Conduct individual and group therapy sessions using art (drawing, painting, crafts) and movement (dance, body-based exercises)
- Design customized therapy plans based on client needs and clinical goals
- Use creative modalities to help clients express emotions and reduce stress
2. Assessment & Treatment Planning
- Assess clients’ emotional, cognitive, and physical functioning through observation and interaction
- Develop structured therapy plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team
- Monitor progress and adapt interventions accordingly
3. Program Development
- Develop and implement structured art and movement therapy programs
- Conduct workshops for stress management, emotional expression, and social skills
- Introduce innovative therapeutic activities aligned with client needs
4. Collaboration
- Work closely with psychologists, psychiatrists, occupational therapists, and special educators
- Participate in case discussions and treatment planning meetings
- Provide feedback to caregivers and families on client progress
5. Documentation
- Maintain detailed and confidential client records, session notes, and progress reports
- Track therapy outcomes and prepare periodic reports
6. Client Engagement & Well-being
- Create a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental therapeutic environment
- Encourage participation and engagement in therapy sessions
- Support clients in building confidence, communication, and coping skills
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in Psychology, Fine Arts, Performing Arts, Dance Movement Therapy, or related field
- Certification in Art Therapy / Dance Movement Therapy (preferred)
Experience
- 1–3 years of relevant experience in art therapy, movement therapy, or mental health settings
- Freshers with strong training/internship experience may be considered

Additional Requirements
- Ability to conduct both structured and flexible therapy sessions
- Willingness to work across different units (Hospitals / Rehab / CDC)
- Knowledge of working with neurodivergent individuals is an advantage
