Job Title: Palliative Care Physician

Qualification:
A Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree from an Indian institution recognized by the Medical Council of India. In exceptional cases BAMS doctors will be considered. All doctors will undergo internal or external training in palliative care, unless already experienced in this discipline.
Experience: Two to three years of medical practice
Nature of Job: To lookafter patients with serious, life limiting conditions, particularly cancer patients, at their homes, in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region so as to relieve their pain and manage their symptoms, ensuring quality of life and dignity in death.
Remuneration: Your salary will be generous and commensurate with your years of experience.
Reporting to: Senior Physician and General Manager, PALCARE
Place of Job: Mumbai Metropolitan region, Accommodation is not provided and applicants must make their own arrangements
Job Description: You will be a member of a medical palliative care team comprising doctor/s nurses and one or more psychosocial counsellors. You will visit patients at their homes. There, you will provide compassionate and expert medical care so as to relieve their pain and manage their symptoms, ensuring that they have quality of life and die in dignity This is a 9:30 am to 5:30 p.m. job – but you may sometimes have to make phone calls to patients beyond these hours.
Language: English, Marathi, Hindi
Personal characteristics:
· Have excellent medical knowledge and skills
· Be willing to learn the discipline of palliative care medicine and be prepared to undergo specialised training and regular refresher courses thereon.
· Show compassion and personalised care to patients and their families
· Have effective communication skills, preferably in English, Hindi / Marathi.
· Be dedicated to the job and be hard working
· Must be willing to make a commitment to the organization for a minimum of 3 years.
