Key Responsibilities:
Code, Integrate and validate Linux-based software components for telecom and 5G network environments.
Configure, troubleshoot, and optimize Layer 2 / Layer 3 networking protocols and services.
Work on system bring-up, platform integration, kernel tuning, and driver validation.
Analyze packet flows using tools such as Wireshark, tcp dump, and iperf.
Support deployment and testing of 5G Core, RAN, Open RAN, or edge network solutions.
Debug performance bottlenecks related to CPU, memory, latency, and throughput.
Collaborate with software, hardware, QA, and network engineering teams.
Automate integration, testing, and deployment tasks using shell/Python scripting.
Investigate issues in routing, switching, VLANs, QoS, firewalling, and IP transport.
Maintain technical documentation, test reports, and deployment procedures.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Electronics, Telecommunications, or related field.
3+ years of experience in Linux system integration or telecom platform engineering.
Strong expertise in Linux administration, kernel concepts, boot process, services, logs, and performance tuning.
Solid understanding of Layer 2 protocols: VLAN, STP, bonding, bridging, MAC learning.
Strong Layer 3 knowledge: IPv4/IPv6, routing, BGP, OSPF, static routes, NAT.
Experience with Linux networking tools: iproute2, netfilter, tcpdump, ethtool, ss, netstat.
Good understanding of 5G architecture: gNB, UPF, AMF, SMF, CU/DU, fronthaul/backhaul.
Experience with virtualization/container platforms such as Docker or Kubernetes.
Scripting skills in Bash, Python, or Ansible.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with OpenShift, Kubernetes CNFs, or cloud-native telecom platforms.
Familiarity with DPDK, SR-IOV, SmartNICs, or high-performance packet processing.
Exposure to CI/CD pipelines such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions.
Knowledge of ORAN standards and multi-vendor integration.
Telecom certification or Linux certification is a plus.
