Position: Production Supervisor / Fabrication Engineer
Department: Production
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and supervise daily production and fabrication activities as per the production schedule.
- Allocate work to operators, welders, fitters, and fabrication teams to achieve daily targets.
- Interpret engineering drawings and ensure fabrication is carried out as per specifications.
- Monitor welding, cutting, machining, assembly, and finishing operations to maintain quality standards.
- Coordinate with the Design, Planning, Purchase, and QA/QC departments for smooth production flow.
- Ensure optimum utilization of manpower, machines, tools, and materials.
- Identify production bottlenecks and implement corrective actions to improve productivity.
- Monitor production progress and ensure on-time completion of jobs.
- Maintain production reports, work orders, and daily productivity records.
- Ensure adherence to safety regulations and good housekeeping practices on the shop floor.
- Minimize material wastage, rework, and production downtime.
- Train and guide shop-floor personnel on work methods, quality requirements, and safety procedures.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance manufacturing efficiency.
Qualifications
- Diploma/B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
Experience
- 3–8 years of experience in a manufacturing company (mandatory).
- Experience in Sheet metal fabrication, process equipment, or industrial machinery manufacturing is preferred.
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of Sheet metal fabrication processes, welding, machining, and assembly.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and fabrication details.
- Knowledge of production planning, scheduling, and shop-floor management.
- Familiarity with measuring instruments and basic quality inspection practices.
- Working knowledge of MS Office; Tally ERP experience is an added advantage.
