We are looking for a Design Engineer for our Robotics team with experience in the robot and automation field. Your role and responsibilities include conceptualizing, designing, and developing new products and providing technical guidance, and executing cross-functional engineering projects. We will expect you to exhibit technical expertise in individual project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables. You will be responsible for the complete manufacturing and assembly of prototypes of existing projects for testing and internal use and will be working on multiple products as a prime contributor and should also be able to provide innovative ideas on new projects.
Qualifications
- BE/BTech/ME/MTech - Mechanical Engineering
- 3+ Years of professional experience in automation and robotics.
Requirements
- Requires working experience on CAD tools like Inventor or related software
- Requires experience in engineering change management, analysis, and troubleshooting problems that occurred.
- Strong knowledge of sheet metal fabrication, development, and finishing processes.
- Good knowledge of GD&T and Static & Dynamic Stress analysis
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
Responsibilities
- Develop design concepts using engineering fundamentals and analysis tools (material strength, stack-up analysis, mechanism) and conduct design feasibility studies using hands-on 3D software.
- Develop and maintain engineering standards and practices within the department.
- Design various subsystems, integrate them with electronics, and bring them together in an overall product assembly.
- Develop and update product documentation including drawings, BOM, and design guides.
- Have to take care of the robots and locker designs as and when required.
- Have to do electrical routing required to operate and control the robot.
- Conduct detailed engineering analysis of robotic subsystems using knowledge of kinematics,
- dynamics, mechanism design, and synthesis.
- Build prototypes of new designs, or procure entire subsystems from suppliers and test for compliance with detailed specifications.
- Perform tests as per industry-accepted reliability specifications.
- Form relationships with outside manufacturers and vendors in order to facilitate mechanical design processes.
- Interact with cross-functional teams such as manufacturing, sourcing, finance, marketing, and vendors to define requirements, validate designs, and implement manufacturing readiness.
- Occasional travel for manufacturing inspections, installations, and commissioning of robots.
- Ability to work in a dynamic environment with minimal supervision
- Ability to manage time effectively, work under deadlines, and prioritize work assignments.
