Housekeeping in a restaurant ensures a sanitary, safe, and welcoming environment by cleaning and sanitizing dining areas, restrooms, and back-of-house spaces, maintaining high hygiene standards, restocking supplies, and managing waste. Their primary role is to uphold cleanliness, enhancing the customer experience and complying with health regulations.Key Responsibilities and Roles:Dining Area Sanitation: Sweeping, mopping, vacuuming floors, cleaning tables/chairs, and dusting fixtures before, during, and after shifts.Restroom Maintenance: Deep cleaning and sanitizing restrooms, including toilets, sinks, mirrors, and replenishing supplies (soap, paper towels, toilet paper).Back-of-House (Kitchen) Hygiene: Cleaning kitchen floors, washing walls, removing trash, and sanitizing employee areas to prevent cross-contamination.Waste Management: Emptying trash cans, breaking down cardboard boxes, and ensuring the dumpster area is clean and orderly.Safety and Compliance: Following safety and sanitation protocols (handling cleaning chemicals securely), reporting repairs, and maintaining a clean environment to reduce hazards.Supplies Inventory: Monitoring levels of cleaning agents, paper products, and toiletries, notifying management to replenish as necessary.
