As a Senior Technical Program Manager for NetApp ONTAP Infrastructure, you will own and lead complex, cross-functional engineering programs from definition through release. You will partner with engineering, product management, quality, lab, and hardware teams to set goals, clarify features, manage timelines, mitigate risk, and deliver high-quality capabilities across ONTAP infrastructure modules—including filesystem infrastructure, storage services, data management, encryption, metadata services, and storage efficiency. You will operate independently in a fast-paced, matrixed environment, driving outcomes with minimal day-to-day supervision and escalating when leadership alignment is needed. With strong technical depth and clear communication, you will connect execution to company priorities, drive quality through measurable KPIs, and uplevel status to senior leadership.
- Own end-to-end delivery of ONTAP infrastructure programsfrom planning through validation, release readiness, and handoff spanning filesystem infrastructure, storage services, data management, encryption, metadata services, and storage efficiency.
- Operate independently with strong judgment: define next steps, drive cross-team progress, and escalate decisions that require leadership input.
- technical depth to understand architecture, dependencies, and tradeoffs in enterprise storage and filesystem platforms; resolve cross-team blockers with engineering and architects.
- Run programs in waterfall, Agile, or hybrid models adapting plans and milestones to team maturity and release constraints.
- Partner with Product Management on scope, success criteria, timelines, and alignment before engineering commitment.
- Build and maintain integrated plans (milestones, dependencies, resources, risks); proactively mitigate schedule, scope, and quality issues.
- Tie program work to ONTAP, Core Data Foundation, and broader business priorities so teams understand strategic context and tradeoffs.
- Drive quality initiatives with KPIs (defects, escapes, coverage, release readiness, SDL compliance) and use data in leadership reviews.
- Engage and align stakeholders across engineering, QA, security, lab, hardware, operations, and support; secure and track commitments.
- Coordinate lab and hardware needs for test infrastructure through the program lifecycle.Lead multi-team, cross-functional enterprise software programs of significant scope and complexity; depth of experience matters more than a specific team-size threshold.
- Present executive-ready status, risks, and options to directors, VPs, and senior leaders.Ensure SDL activities and sign-offs are planned and completed in step with release milestones.Influence without authority in a matrixed organization; improve efficiency through practical process and tooling (Jira, dashboards, automation).
- B.E/B. Tech/BS or M.Tech/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 10+ years in technical/engineering program or release management on complex enterprise software programs.
- Preferred: Storage, filesystem, or platform infrastructure experience is a plus; quality engineering and SDL familiarity; PMP or equivalent is a plus.
