Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Production Manager to lead and manage day-to-day manufacturing operations in a medical device manufacturing environment.
The candidate will be responsible for production planning, manpower management, achieving production targets, process improvement, quality compliance, cost control, and ensuring timely delivery of products while maintaining compliance with ISO 13485, GMP, SOPs, and cleanroom requirements.
Key Responsibilities1. Production Planning & Management
- Plan and execute daily, weekly, and monthly production activities based on customer requirements and production schedules.
- Ensure achievement of production targets while maintaining product quality.
- Monitor production processes and ensure optimum utilization of manpower, machines, materials, and resources.
- Coordinate with Planning, Stores, Quality, R&D, Maintenance, and other departments.
- Monitor production progress and take corrective actions for delays and bottlenecks.
- Ensure timely completion of production orders.
2. Manpower Management
- Plan manpower requirements based on production workload and shift requirements.
- Allocate operators, technicians, engineers, and supervisors effectively.
- Monitor employee productivity and attendance.
- Train and develop production personnel on processes, SOPs, safety, and quality requirements.
- Manage shift operations and ensure proper handover between shifts.
- Identify manpower gaps and coordinate with HR for recruitment requirements.
3. Medical Device Manufacturing
- Manage manufacturing activities for medical device products such as:
- Medical tubing
- Catheters
- Braided/coiled tubing
- Injection molded components
- Catheter assemblies
- Introducer sheaths
- Guide catheters
- Other precision medical device components
- Ensure products are manufactured according to approved specifications and procedures.
- Maintain proper product and material traceability throughout the manufacturing process.
4. Quality & ISO 13485 Compliance
- Ensure production activities comply with ISO 13485 and applicable medical device quality requirements.
- Ensure adherence to approved SOPs, Work Instructions, Batch Manufacturing Records, and Process Specifications.
- Ensure proper documentation and traceability of manufacturing activities.
- Coordinate with QA for handling:
- Non-conformances
- Deviations
- CAPA
- Change controls
- Customer complaints
- Process-related quality issues
- Support internal, customer, and regulatory audits.
5. Process Improvement
- Identify production bottlenecks and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Improve productivity, yield, machine utilization, and process efficiency.
- Reduce rejection, rework, scrap, and material wastage.
- Implement Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Conduct Root Cause Analysis for recurring production problems.
- Develop and monitor production KPIs.
6. Cleanroom & GMP Operations
- Ensure production activities are carried out according to applicable cleanroom and GMP requirements.
- Ensure personnel follow gowning, hygiene, environmental, and contamination-control procedures.
- Monitor housekeeping and discipline within production areas.
- Ensure proper handling and storage of materials inside controlled areas.
7. Equipment & Maintenance Coordination
- Coordinate with Maintenance for preventive and breakdown maintenance.
- Minimize machine downtime and improve equipment availability.
- Ensure production equipment is maintained and operated according to approved procedures.
- Support equipment qualification and validation activities where required.
8. Documentation & MIS
Ensure timely preparation and review of:
- Daily production reports
- Monthly production reports
- Production planning reports
- Machine utilization reports
- Downtime reports
- Rejection and rework reports
- Material consumption reports
- Manpower productivity reports
- OEE reports
- Production KPI dashboards
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: ₹40,000.00 - ₹60,000.00 per month
