Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Head – Payroll & Compliance to lead the organization's payroll function and statutory compliance framework. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing, adherence to all statutory and labour law requirements, payroll governance, compliance audits, and effective coordination with internal stakeholders and external agencies.
Key ResponsibilitiesPayroll Management
- Lead end-to-end payroll processing for employees across multiple locations.
- Ensure accurate computation of salaries, incentives, reimbursements, overtime, bonuses, leave encashment, and deductions.
- Review and validate attendance, leave records, and payroll inputs before salary processing.
- Oversee Full & Final (F&F) settlements for exiting employees.
- Ensure timely salary disbursement and payroll reconciliation.
- Manage payroll calendars, controls, and approval processes.
- Coordinate with Finance for salary payments, statutory remittances, and payroll accounting.
- Resolve complex payroll-related queries and escalations.
Statutory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with all applicable labour laws and statutory regulations.
- Manage statutory compliances including Provident Fund (PF), Employees' State Insurance (ESIC), Professional Tax (PT), Labour Welfare Fund (LWF), Gratuity, Bonus, and Tax Deducted at Source (TDS).
- Ensure timely filing of statutory returns and remittance of contributions.
- Liaise with government authorities, auditors, and consultants for compliance matters.
- Monitor changes in labour laws and statutory regulations and implement required process updates.
Compliance & Audit
- Lead payroll, statutory, and compliance audits (Internal, External, Client, and Government).
- Ensure payroll documentation and compliance records are audit-ready.
- Identify compliance risks and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Prepare compliance reports, payroll MIS, and management dashboards.
Vendor & Stakeholder Management
- Manage relationships with payroll service providers, statutory consultants, and auditors.
- Collaborate with Finance, Taxation, and Legal teams for payroll and compliance matters.
- Drive payroll automation and process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Preferred Qualifications
- MBA/PGDM in Human Resources, Finance, or related field.
- 8+ years of experience in Payroll and Statutory Compliance.
- Experience managing payroll for large employee populations.
- Strong understanding of Indian labour laws, payroll taxation, and statutory regulations.
Pay: ₹40,000.00 - ₹65,000.00 per month
