This Role: This role provides an opportunity to scale our stationary storage business (Utility scale BESS and C&I storage) and contribute to India’s decarbonization journey. The selected candidate will spearhead business development initiatives, with a focus on stationary energy storage application. This role will be responsible for riding those tailwinds and driving business growth for Cygni.

Responsibilities:
Sales and Business Development – High Voltage (BESS 5MWh and above)
1) BESS Tender Engagement

Track upcoming BESS-related tenders in the utility-scale and large C&I segments.

Engage with IPPs, large EPCs, and government agencies.

Identify and build strategic partnerships for project-specific bidding.
2) Proposal and Bid Management
-
Lead proposal development, solution tailoring, and submission of bids aligned with technical and commercial requirements.
3) EPC Partnerships
-
Develop strong partnerships with Solar & Wind EPC players to position Cygni as their preferred storage partner.
4) Sales Planning
-
Drive revenue growth by owning sales targets and developing an actionable pipeline of projects.
5) Market Development
-
Identify and validate new use cases for storage and work on proof of concept (POC) demonstrations.
6) New Product Alignment
-
Work closely with Product Development and Engineering to convert market insights into new offerings.
7) Marketing Collaboration
-
Partner with the Marketing team for campaign strategy, collaterals, and branding at industry forums.
Professional qualifications:
- Engineering graduate
- MBA or Masters in Engineering is a plus
- 10 to 15 years of proven experience of successfully winning and delivering solar projects (with or without storage).
- Experience of dealing with various System Integrators (SI) and Renewable Energy EPC players is preferred.
- Basic understanding of Lithium Ion battery and its sizing in various applications is a plus.
- Demonstrable experience of sourcing projects in the 25kWp to 1MWp range through non-tender route
