This Position reports to:
Senior Engineering Manager
In this role, you will have the opportunity to act as a design authority for an engineering discipline with low to medium complexity. Each day, you will complete assignments on small projects or portions of larger projects in a cost-effective manner. You will also showcase your expertise by applying basic design thinking/design for excellence concepts in projects.

This role is contributing to the to the Process Automation business in Energy Industries division based in Bangalore, India You will be mainly accountable for:

Control Architecture Design: Develop scalable, high-performance control architectures for gas turbine and combined-cycle plants. Validate system performance across various operating conditions, including start-up, load changes, and grid disturbances.
Migration & Upgrade Projects: Lead engineering activities for Mark V to ABB control system migrations, including detailed I/O mapping, logic conversion, and validation of functional equivalence.
Integration & Commissioning: Oversee integration with electrical systems, instrumentation, and plant DCS. Support Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), and commissioning at international sites.
Compliance & Standards: Ensure all work adheres to IEC, IEEE, NFPA, and local grid codes. Implement cybersecurity measures for control systems.
Digital Enablement: Integrate predictive analytics, remote monitoring, and AI-driven diagnostics into control solutions.
Documentation & Training: Prepare comprehensive engineering documentation, test procedures, and training materials for plant operators.

Qualifications for the role:
At least 8-12 years’ experience in power plant automation, specifically in gas turbine control (experience with GE Mark V and ABB Symphony Plus is highly desirable).
Proven track record of successful retrofit or upgrade projects for turbine control systems and Strong proficiency in control logic design, PLC/DCS programming, and HMI development.
Hands-on experience with ABB Symphony Plus and GE Mark V control systems, as well as relevant communication protocols (such as Modbus, OPC, IEC 61850) and excellent project management and effective stakeholder communication skills.
Ability to influence and drive change across global initiatives and analytical approach and strong problem-solving abilities for complex integration projects.
Certifications (Preferred)- ABB Control Systems Certification, Cybersecurity for Industrial Control Systems and PMP or equivalent project management certification.
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical, Electronics, or Automation Engineering.
