Position Overview
Optics & Allied Engg. Pvt. Ltd. is seeking a detail-oriented Quality Inspector to ensure that all manufactured components meet customer specifications, engineering drawings, and quality standards. The candidate should have experience in inspection of precision machined and optical components using measuring instruments and should be familiar with ISO/AS9100 quality requirements.
Key ResponsibilitiesIncoming Inspection
- Perform inspection of incoming raw materials, bought-out parts, and components as per inspection plans.
- Verify supplier documents, test certificates, and material traceability.
- Accept or reject materials based on quality standards.
In-Process Inspection
- Conduct stage-wise inspections during manufacturing.
- Verify dimensions and tolerances as per engineering drawings.
- Identify and report quality deviations to Production and Quality Engineers.
Final Inspection
- Perform final inspection of finished components before dispatch.
- Ensure products comply with customer specifications and quality requirements.
- Prepare inspection reports and release products for dispatch.
Measurement & Testing
- Inspect components using precision measuring instruments such as:
- Vernier Caliper
- Micrometer
- Height Gauge
- Bore Gauge
- Dial Indicator
- Thread Gauges
- Slip Gauges
- Surface Plate
- Profile Projector (preferred)
- CMM (basic knowledge preferred)
Documentation
- Maintain inspection records, quality reports, and inspection checklists.
- Prepare Non-Conformance Reports (NCR) for rejected parts.
- Maintain traceability records as per customer and AS9100 requirements.
- Update inspection data and maintain quality documentation.
Quality Improvement
- Support root cause analysis and corrective actions for quality issues.
- Coordinate with Production and Engineering teams to resolve quality concerns.
- Participate in internal quality audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
Safety & Compliance
- Follow company safety procedures and quality policies.
- Maintain 5S standards in the inspection area.
- Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, AS9100, and customer-specific requirements.
Qualifications
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering / BE/B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
- 1-3 years of experience as a Quality Inspector in a precision engineering or manufacturing company.
