About the role
Join our NPI Engineering team to design and develop precision assemblies that meet demanding customer requirements—balancing thermal and mechanical performance, manufacturability, and schedule. You’ll move from concept to prototype to production, collaborating cross‑functionally to deliver high‑quality products on time and within budget. This position requires a high level of attention to detail, organizational, project management and multi-tasking skills, including proactive problem solving. As part of the NPI Engineering, team will be expected to offer suggestions and participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives.
What you’ll do
- Translate customer requirements (BOMs, 2D/3D drawings, specifications) into manufacturable designs and documentation.
- Estimate time & materials Costing, Part fabrication machining time and assembly time estimation
- Prepare manufacturing drawings including component part drawings.
- Partner with engineers and designers to produce construction drawings and detailed plan sets using CAD platforms (Inventor is advantageous).
- Assist in project delivery by creating detailed design documentation, including P&IDs, piping layouts, sections, isometrics, and material take-offs/bills of materials.
- Collaborate with design leadership and engineering teams to enhance CAD processes, establish best practices, and troubleshoot software-related challenges.
- Perform quality checks and redline reviews of construction drawings to ensure alignment with project specifications and internal CAD standards.
- Prepare finished part drawings including redlines and ECR/ECO
- Ensure the accuracy and completeness of models, drawings, and bills of materials for both individual and team deliverables.
- Analyze and resolve complex design challenges through effective problem-solving techniques.
- Organize models, drawings, and BOMs in a standardized and structured format to ensure clarity and ease of understanding for stakeholders.
- Undertake additional assignments and special projects as required to enhance departmental efficiency and overall productivity.
- Perform detailed documentation to track project development and design process
- Ensure project timeline is met and project stays within budget
- Generate and present technical information in report and oral presentation format.
- Support design reviews and proposal content.
What you’ll bring
- Proficiency with 3D CAD (Inventor, Solid Edge, SolidWorks) and ability to read assemblies/blueprints/schematics.
- Strong communication, technical writing/presentations, and project/time management skills.
- Must have strong communication and project management skills along with engineering aptitude.
- Skilled at performing appropriate engineering analyses.
- Effective at communication including technical writing and oral presentations.
- Capable of managing projects, including costs and schedules.
- Effective at time management.
- (Level III & Sr) SPC methods, FEA (thermal/stress), Lean/Six Sigma, and 8D problem‑solving exposure.
- Education/Experience by level: Level I—BS in Mechanical (Manufacturing/Electro‑Mechanical or equivalent); Level II—4+ yrs; Level III—6+ yrs; Sr—10+ yrs.
