Job Purpose
To supervise and control High Pressure Die Casting (HPDC) operations to ensure safe, high-quality, cost-effective, and timely production as per customer and organizational requirements.
Key Responsibilities Production & Process Control
- Supervise day-to-day HPDC operations (Hot Chamber machines).
- Ensure production targets (Shift-wise / Daily) are achieved.
- Monitor machine parameters: injection speed, pressure, temperature, cycle time.
- Ensure correct die setup, die clamping, and changeover as per SOP.
- Reduce rejection, downtime, and cycle time losses.
Quality Control
- Ensure castings meet dimensional & visual quality standards.
- Monitor defects such as porosity, cold shuts, flash, shrinkage, cracks.
- Coordinate with Quality team for first-off approval and rejection analysis.
- Implement corrective & preventive actions (CAPA).
Manpower Management
- Allocate operators and helpers shift-wise.
- Ensure discipline, attendance, and productivity of HPDC team.
- Train operators on machine operation, safety, and quality awareness.
- Evaluate operator skill matrix and provide feedback.
Safety, 5S & Compliance
- Ensure strict adherence to safety norms (PPE, molten metal handling).
- Enforce 5S and housekeeping in HPDC area.
- Follow SOPs, Work Instructions, and statutory requirements.
- Report near-miss incidents, unsafe acts & conditions.
Maintenance Coordination
- Coordinate with Maintenance team for breakdowns and preventive maintenance.
- Ensure proper die maintenance, lubrication, and storage.
- Record machine breakdowns and follow up on root cause analysis.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain production reports, rejection data, downtime logs.
- Monitor OEE, productivity, and yield.
- Support internal & external audits (ISO / IATF / Customer audits).
Authority
- Stop production in case of safety or quality risk.
- Assign work and reallocate manpower within shift.
- Recommend disciplinary action or skill training.

Educational Qualification
- Diploma / BE in Mechanical / Production / Metallurgy
- ITI with strong HPDC experience may also be considered
Experience
- 3–5 years in HPDC operations
- Minimum 1 years in supervisory role preferred

- HPDC process knowledge (Aluminum/Zinc)
- Die casting defects & troubleshooting
