Role Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior ETL Talend Developer to design, develop and maintain robust ETL solutions using Talend and IBM DataStage.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain robust ETL solutions using Talend and IBM DataStage.
- Analyse complex data requirements and build efficient ETL pipelines to support business needs.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders and cross-functional IT teams to understand data integration needs and propose optimal solutions.
- Perform data extraction, transformation, and loading from multiple data sources to target data warehouses or data lakes.
- Implement data quality checks, exception handling, and performance optimization in ETL processes.
- Conduct unit testing, validate data accuracy, and troubleshoot technical issues in ETL jobs.
- Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including mappings, workflows, and data dictionaries.
- Participate in code reviews, deployments, and production support as needed.
- Ensure adherence to data governance, security, and compliance standards.
- Stay current with industry best practices and tools in ETL and data integration technologies.
- 6+ years of experience in ETL development and data integration.
- Minimum 4 years of strong hands-on experience in both Talend (preferably Talend Open Studio/Enterprise) and IBM DataStage.
- Proficient in ETL job design, performance tuning, and handling large-scale data processing.
- Solid understanding of RDBMS concepts, SQL queries, and experience working with databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, or PostgreSQL.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to interpret business requirements and convert them into technical specifications.
- Good understanding of data modelling, data warehousing concepts, and data lifecycle management.
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git, SVN) and job scheduling tools is a plus.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and documentation skills.
Qualifications
Education:Education: B.Tech/B.E (IT) or higher.
Competencies Desired
- 6+ years’ experience in ETL.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Talend and Datastage development.
- Expertise in designing and implementing Talend and Datastage ETL jobs.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
