Job Summary:
The Housekeeping Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, and supervising all housekeeping operations to ensure the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and guest satisfaction across guest rooms, public areas, banquet spaces, restaurants, offices, and staff accommodation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the day-to-day housekeeping operations efficiently.
- Supervise, train, and motivate housekeeping staff.
- Prepare staff duty rosters and allocate work effectively.
- Ensure all guest rooms and public areas meet cleanliness and presentation standards.
- Conduct regular inspections and implement corrective actions where required.
- Maintain housekeeping inventory, linen, uniforms, and cleaning supplies.
- Coordinate with Maintenance for repair and preventive maintenance requirements.
- Ensure proper handling of lost and found items.
- Monitor pest control, deep cleaning, and sanitation schedules.
- Maintain housekeeping records, reports, and checklists.
- Ensure compliance with health, hygiene, and safety standards.
- Handle guest complaints related to housekeeping promptly and professionally.
- Control departmental expenses and minimize wastage.
- Coordinate with Front Office, F&B, and other departments for smooth operations.
- Ensure proper grooming, discipline, and attendance of housekeeping staff.
- Conduct regular departmental meetings and training sessions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Hotel Management or Hospitality Management.
- 5–8 years of housekeeping experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good knowledge of housekeeping procedures, chemicals, and equipment.
- Inventory and cost control knowledge.
- Problem-solving and decision-making ability.
- Attention to detail and quality standards.
- Computer proficiency (MS Office/PMS systems preferred).
