A Senior Accounts Executive manages an organization's day-to-day financial operations, ensures regulatory compliance, and prepares accurate financial reports. They play a critical role in reconciling accounts, overseeing budgets, mentoring junior staff, and supporting audits to maintain the company’s financial health. The roles and responsibilities of a Senior Accounts Executive generally fall into the following core categories:1. Financial Reporting & General Ledger
- Maintain and oversee the general ledger, ensuring all daily financial transactions are accurately recorded.
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Reconcile complex accounts (bank, vendor, and intercompany) to identify and resolve discrepancies.
- Monitor cash flow and provide strategic insights to senior management.
2. Statutory Compliance & Taxation
- Ensure strict adherence to regional and national tax laws, including GST, TDS, EPF, and ESIC.
- File timely statutory returns and assist with the preparation of tax audits.
- Ensure internal financial data aligns with company policies and legal regulations.
3. Accounts Payable & Receivable (AP/AR)
- Oversee the processing of vendor invoices, employee expense reports, and payment disbursements (AP).
- Manage client billing, track incoming payments, and follow up on outstanding receivables (AR).
- Manage credit control policies to minimize financial risk and bad debts.
4. Auditing & Budgeting
- Coordinate and provide necessary documentation for internal and external annual audits.
- Assist department heads in developing, allocating, and monitoring annual budgets.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and areas for financial process improvement.
5. Team Leadership & Support
- Supervise, train, and mentor junior accounting staff and data entry operators.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (HR, operations, sales) to align departmental goals.
- Utilize and maintain accounting software (such as Tally) to optimize workflow
