- Supervise the day-to-day functioning of the Operation Theatre.
- Supervise OT nurses, technicians, housekeeping, and support staff.
- Prepare duty rosters and manage staff allocation.
- Conduct orientation and training programs for OT staff.
- Monitor staff discipline, attendance, and performance.
- Ensure proper pre-operative and post-operative patient care procedures.
- Verify patient identity, consent forms, and surgical checklists before procedures.
- Maintain patient safety standards and emergency preparedness.
- Ensure proper maintenance and functioning of OT equipment and instruments.
- Coordinate with the biomedical department for equipment servicing and repairs.
- Monitor stock levels of surgical instruments, consumables, and medicines.
- Maintain proper documentation of inventory and usage.
- Ensure strict adherence to sterilization and infection control protocols.
- Conduct regular audits and quality checks within the OT.
- Implement hospital policies, NABH standards, and safety protocols.
- Maintain OT records, registers, and reports accurately.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly OT reports.
- Report incidents, equipment failures, and operational issues to management.
- Coordinate with surgeons, anesthetists, nursing departments, CSSD, ICU, and wards.
- Ensure timely readiness of OT for emergency and elective surgeries.
Qualification:
- B.Sc OT Technology /Diploma in OT Technology or relevant healthcare qualification.
- Certification in OT techniques or perioperative care is preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum 4–5 years of experience in Operation Theatre management or supervision.
Skills Required:
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Knowledge of OT protocols, sterilization, and infection control.
- Good communication and coordination abilities.
- Ability to handle emergencies and work under pressure.
- Basic computer knowledge and documentation skills.
