Brand Nimbus is an SEO agency working with home services businesses across the US (pool builders, contractors, HVAC, plumbing, and related trades). We're hiring a full-time SEO Content Editor to own quality control on all client content before it ships, taking that responsibility off the agency owner's plate entirely.
You'll be the last checkpoint between our writers and our clients. If you can spot a weak paragraph, a factual slip, a heading structure error, or content that reads like it was written by AI and fix it fast, this is your role.
What you'll do
- Edit blog posts, location pages, and service pages for tone, clarity, and accuracy before they go to clients
- QA content against strategist briefs – keyword usage, structure, city-specific detail, brief compliance
- Catch factual and consistency errors (wrong city references, incorrect pricing/timelines, copy-paste mistakes across location pages)
- Enforce editorial standards: no AI-sounding filler, no em dashes, short paragraphs, conversational tone, real local detail
- Track the content queue. Know what's in progress, what's overdue, what's stuck in revision
- Give direct, specific feedback to writers so recurring issues actually get fixed, not just patched
- Basic on-page SEO checks: heading hierarchy, keyword placement, internal linking, meta descriptions
What you'll need
- 2-4 years of experience in content editing, copyediting, or SEO content writing (agency experience preferred)
- Strong command of written English. This is non-negotiable, you're the last line of defense
- Working knowledge of on-page SEO fundamentals
- Comfortable giving direct feedback to writers on their work
- Detail-oriented enough to catch things like a location page written for the wrong city
- Able to work independently and manage a content queue without hand-holding
- Familiarity with WordPress/Elementor is a plus, not required
