Job Summary
The Purchase Executive is responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and coordinating the timely procurement of raw materials, components, consumables, tools, and services required for manufacturing operations. The role involves vendor management, price negotiations, inventory coordination, and ensuring uninterrupted material availability while maintaining cost efficiency and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Procure raw materials, electrical components, engineering items, consumables, packaging materials, and other production-related items.
- Generate and process Purchase Requisitions (PR) and Purchase Orders (PO).
- Ensure timely procurement of materials as per production requirements.
- Monitor order status and follow up with suppliers for timely deliveries.
- Maintain optimal inventory levels to avoid production interruptions.
- Identify and develop new vendors and suppliers.
- Conduct supplier evaluation and performance assessment.
- Negotiate prices, payment terms, delivery schedules, and contracts.
- Maintain strong relationships with existing suppliers.
- Obtain and compare quotations from multiple vendors.
- Perform cost analysis and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Ensure procurement activities align with budget requirements.
- Monitor market trends and price fluctuations.
- Coordinate with Production, Stores, Quality, Accounts, and Logistics departments.
- Verify purchase invoices and coordinate with accounts for payment processing.
- Maintain accurate purchase records, vendor databases, and procurement documentation.
- Prepare MIS reports related to procurement activities.
- Ensure purchased materials meet company quality standards and specifications.
- Adhere to procurement policies and procedures.
- Support audits by maintaining proper purchase records and documentation.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree/Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, Commerce, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
- 3– 7 years of experience in procurement/purchasing within a manufacturing industry.
- Experience in engineering, elevator, electrical, fabrication, or industrial manufacturing sectors will be preferred.
