The Carpenter is responsible for carrying out carpentry repairs, maintenance, and installation work within the mall premises. The role ensures that all wooden fixtures, furniture, partitions, doors, counters, and related structures are maintained in safe and functional condition.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventive and corrective carpentry maintenance throughout the mall.
- Repair and install doors, locks, cabinets, shelves, counters, partitions, and wooden fixtures.
- Maintain food court furniture, kiosks, retail shop fittings, and common area furnishings.
- Read and interpret drawings, sketches, and work orders.
- Measure, cut, shape, and assemble wood and other materials as required.
- Inspect mall facilities and identify carpentry-related repair needs.
- Coordinate with other maintenance teams for renovation and fit-out projects.
- Ensure tools and equipment are properly maintained and safely operated.
- Follow workplace safety procedures and company policies.
- Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests.
Requirements
- ITI / Vocational Certificate in Carpentry or related trade.
- 2–5 years of carpentry experience, preferably in malls, commercial buildings, hotels, or large facilities.
- Knowledge of woodworking tools, materials, and repair techniques.
- Ability to read technical drawings and measurements accurately.
- Basic knowledge of safety standards and maintenance procedures.
- Physically fit and capable of lifting materials and working at heights when required.
