Position: Deputy Manager – HR (Payroll & Statutory Compliance)
Job Purpose
To manage end-to-end payroll processing, ensure compliance with all statutory labour laws, maintain employee records, coordinate audits, and support HR operations while ensuring timely and accurate salary administration across all locations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage monthly payroll processing for permanent, contract, trainee, and casual employees.
- Ensure statutory compliance under PF, ESI, PT, TDS, Labour Welfare Fund, Bonus, Gratuity, CLRA, Minimum Wages, Factories Act, and other applicable labour laws.
- Prepare and submit statutory returns and coordinate inspections from government authorities.
- Maintain payroll records, employee master data, attendance, leave, overtime, and wage registers.
- Reconcile payroll with Finance and ensure timely salary disbursement.
- Coordinate with contractors for labour compliance, wage verification, and statutory documentation.
- Handle payroll audits, statutory audits, and internal compliance reviews.
- Support HR policies, performance management, employee lifecycle documentation, and disciplinary procedures.
- Prepare MIS reports, payroll analytics, headcount reports, and compliance dashboards.
- Liaise with Finance, Accounts, Administration, and Operations for payroll and statutory matters.
- Ensure confidentiality of employee information and payroll data.
Qualification
- MBA/MSW in Human Resources, MHRM, or equivalent.
- Certification in Payroll, Labour Laws, or Statutory Compliance is must
Experience
- 5–8 years of HR experience, with at least 5 years in Payroll and Statutory Compliance, preferably in shipyard, manufacturing, engineering, or heavy industrial sectors.
Key Skills
- Expert knowledge of Indian labour laws and statutory compliances.
- Hands-on experience with payroll software and HRMS.
- Strong understanding of PF, ESI, TDS, gratuity, bonus, CLRA, and Factory Act compliance.
- Payroll reconciliation, MIS reporting, and HR analytics.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in MS Excel and ERP/HRIS systems.
- Ability to manage multiple locations and large workforce payroll.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- 100% accurate and timely payroll processing.
- Zero statutory non-compliance or penalties.
- Timely filing of all statutory returns.
- Successful completion of payroll and compliance audits.
- High employee satisfaction in payroll and statutory grievance resolution.
- Accurate maintenance of HR and statutory records.
- Timely submission of payroll MIS and compliance reports.
Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
