Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Design Engineer / Draftsman with 3–5 years of experience in engineering design and drafting. The ideal candidate should have strong proficiency in AutoCAD and SolidWorks, with the ability to develop accurate engineering drawings, create 3D models, and support manufacturing through effective design solutions. The candidate should possess a sound understanding of manufacturing processes, engineering standards, and technical documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Create, modify, and optimize 2D and 3D models using AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
- Prepare detailed engineering drawings, layouts, and technical documentation.
- Perform design analysis and ensure compliance with applicable engineering standards and specifications.
- Coordinate with production and manufacturing teams to ensure designs are feasible and production-ready.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams during prototyping, testing, and product development.
- Identify and resolve design-related issues while supporting continuous product improvement.
- Ensure designs meet quality, safety, and manufacturing requirements.
- Maintain project documentation, revision history, and version control of design files.
- Support engineering change management and implement design modifications as required.
- Assist in developing cost-effective and efficient design solutions.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and SolidWorks (Mandatory).
- Strong knowledge of engineering drawing standards and GD&T.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes, fabrication methods, and engineering materials.
- Ability to interpret technical specifications and mechanical drawings.
- Good analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and documentation practices.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team-oriented environment.
Qualification
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
Preferred Candidate Profile
- 3–5 years of relevant experience in mechanical design and drafting.
- Experience working in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
- Familiarity with product development, prototyping, and production support.
- Candidates residing in or willing to relocate to Vasai East will be preferred.
- Immediate joiners or candidates serving a short notice period will have an added advantage.
