We are looking for a skilled Assembly Technician with experience in Special Purpose Machine (SPM) assembly. The candidate should have hands-on experience in mechanical assembly, drilling, tapping, and interpreting assembly drawings. The role requires assembling machine components with precision while ensuring quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble mechanical components and sub-assemblies of SPM machines according to engineering drawings.
- Perform drilling, tapping, and fitting operations as required during machine assembly.
- Read and understand assembly drawings and mechanical layouts.
- Align, mount, and install machine parts with proper accuracy.
- Use hand tools, power tools, measuring instruments, and assembly equipment effectively.
- Check assembled components for proper fit, alignment, and functionality.
- Identify and report assembly issues to the supervisor.
- Maintain cleanliness and safety in the assembly area.
- Follow company quality standards and assembly procedures.
- Assist in machine installation and trial runs when required.
Required Skills
- Hands-on experience in SPM machine assembly.
- Good knowledge of drilling and tapping operations.
- Ability to read mechanical and assembly drawings.
- Knowledge of measuring instruments such as Vernier Caliper, Micrometer, and Dial Gauge.
- Familiarity with hand tools and power tools.
- Strong problem-solving and teamwork skills.
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Qualification
- ITI / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related trade.
Preferred Experience
- 1–5 years of experience in SPM machine assembly.
- Experience in drilling, tapping, fitting, and mechanical assembly only.
