In your primary role, you will be responsible for the following:
- Handle credit rating assessments and reviews for large exposure customers in accordance with internal credit policies, underwriting guidelines, and risk management frameworks.
- Conduct regular reviews of customer credit ratings based on updated financial statements, repayment track record, external credit ratings, industry developments, and other relevant qualitative and quantitative risk factors.
- Prepare comprehensive credit analyses and make recommendations to the appropriate rating approval authorities, ensuring adherence to established credit policies and procedures.
- Engage effectively with borrowers, Relationship Managers, Sales teams, and other internal stakeholders to obtain necessary information, address queries, and ensure ratings are finalized within agreed turnaround times (TATs).
- Monitor the health and performance of the assigned portfolio by tracking key risk indicators, identifying early warning signals, and highlighting potential risks and opportunities for timely action and risk mitigation.
- Support portfolio management activities through ongoing assessment of sector trends, customer performance, concentration risks, and emerging credit concerns.
- Ensure compliance with applicable credit policies, rating methodologies, portfolio management guidelines, and regulatory requirements throughout the underwriting and review process.
- Remain informed of industry trends, regulatory developments, and best practices in credit risk assessment, underwriting, and portfolio monitoring to enhance the quality of credit decisions.
- Continuously evaluate existing credit underwriting and rating processes and recommend improvements to strengthen efficiency, consistency, risk identification, and overall effectiveness.
- Participate in customer meetings, review discussions, and stakeholder interactions, where required, to gain a deeper understanding of business operations, financial performance, risks, and growth opportunities.
- Actively support internal, external, and regulatory audits by providing required documentation, explanations, and timely resolution of audit observations.
- Liaise closely with Management, Sales, Credit, and Risk Management teams through structured discussions and review forums to support sound credit decisions and continuous improvement of business processes.
- Maintain accurate credit documentation, rating rationales, and portfolio review records to ensure transparency, auditability, and compliance with internal governance standards.
- Support the implementation of portfolio monitoring frameworks, watch-list processes, covenant tracking, and escalation guidelines to facilitate proactive risk management.

Knowledge & Experience
- Approximately 4-5 years of relevant experience in Credit Risk, Credit Underwriting, Portfolio Management, or Risk Assessment within a Bank, NBFC, or other regulated financial institution.
- Proven experience in commercial finance and corporate credit underwriting, including the assessment of financial, business, industry, and management risks across diverse customer segments.
- Strong understanding of credit policies, risk management principles, rating methodologies, portfolio monitoring frameworks, and regulatory requirements applicable to lending businesses.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze complex credit proposals, evaluate risk-reward considerations, and make sound credit recommendations within delegated authority and policy guidelines.
- Good understanding of financial statement analysis, cash flow assessment, credit structuring, covenant monitoring, and risk mitigation techniques.
- Experience in monitoring portfolio performance, identifying early warning indicators, and supporting proactive risk management initiatives.
- Hands-on experience with Loan Origination Systems (LOS), Loan Management Systems (LMS), and other credit/risk management platforms used within banks or NBFCs.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with the ability to interpret financial and non-financial information effectively.
- Ability to work in a dynamic environment, manage multiple priorities, and deliver quality outcomes within defined turnaround timelines.
- Demonstrated quick learning ability, adaptability, and willingness to continuously enhance technical and industry knowledge.
- Effective communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage constructively with customers, business teams, and risk stakeholders.
Educational Qualifications
- Chartered Accountant (CA) or MBA (Finance) from a reputed institution preferred.
- Additional qualifications or certifications in Credit Risk, Financial Analysis, Lending, or Risk Management will be an added advantage.
