Core Patient Care & Monitoring
- Monitor patient vital signs, track disease progression, and report critical changes to physicians.
- Assess patient needs and implement individualized care plans, ensuring adherence to facility policies and medical procedures.
- Provide physical and emotional support to patients and their families, offering guidance on recovery and disease prevention. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
Treatments & Medication Administration
- Administer prescribed medications safely via various routes (oral, IV, intramuscular) while monitoring for adverse reactions.
- Assist physicians with complex examinations, surgeries, and specialized diagnostic procedures.
- Perform clinical procedures including wound care, dressing changes, phlebotomy, and catheterization. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6]
Coordination & Unit Management
- Oversee patient admissions, transfers, and discharges, ensuring all medical records and paperwork are thoroughly documented.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to evaluate patient responses and adjust care accordingly.
- Maintain a clean, sterile, and safe ward environment while ensuring medical equipment is properly sanitized and restocked. [1, 2, 3, 4]
Leadership & Mentorship (For Senior Staff)
- Act as a preceptor and supervisor for junior nurses, nursing students, and newly hired staff.
- Respond to medical emergencies and crisis situations, including administering CPR and advanced life support. [1, 2, 3]
