About Position:
The Proofpoint DLP Engineer will be responsible for the design, implementation, and day to day operations of Proofpoint DLP solutions to protect sensitive data across email, endpoints, and cloud channels. This hands on role focuses on policy configuration, incident triage, data classification, integration, reporting, and remediation coordination, ensuring alignment with security governance, compliance, and business requirements.The role requires close collaboration with IT, SOC, Legal, Compliance, HR, and application teams to reduce data leakage risks and ensure timely incident resolution.

What You'll Do:

Proofpoint DLP Platform Operations

Administer and maintain Proofpoint DLP (Email, Endpoint, Cloud where applicable).

Configure and manage: o

DLP policies, rules, and detection logico

User roles, access controls, and workflowso

Incident response actions (block, quarantine, encrypt, notify)

Perform routine health checks, tuning, and configuration reviews.

Troubleshoot DLP policy issues, false positives, and delivery impacts.

Data Classification Policy Management
-
Define and implement DLP policies aligned with: o

Data classification standards (PII, PCI, PHI, IP, confidential data)o

Regulatory and compliance requirements

Tune detection techniques including: o

Exact Data Matching (EDM)o

Fingerprintingo
-
Keyword and pattern based rules
-
Continuously optimize policies to balance security and business usability.

Incident Management Response
-
Monitor and triage DLP incidents across supported channels.

Validate incidents, reduce false positives, and assess business impact.

Coordinate with data owners and business teams for investigation and remediation.

Support incident escalation, documentation, and closure within defined SLAs.

Assist with forensic analysis and evidence collection when required.

Integration Collaboration

Integrate Proofpoint DLP with: o

SIEM/SOC toolso

ITSM systems (e.g., ServiceNow)

Work closely with SOC teams to align DLP alerts with incident response processes.

Collaborate with Legal, Compliance, and HR on sensitive data investigations.
