We are seeking an experienced Lead System Engineer to spearhead heterogeneous database migration initiatives from MS SQL Server to Aurora PostgreSQL. In this role, you will drive end-to-end migration efforts leveraging AWS Database Migration Service (DMS) and Schema Conversion Tool (SCT), while authoring migration runbooks that guide broader engineering teams through complex enterprise transitions.
Responsibilities

Lead the setup, configuration, and validation of AWS DMS and SCT for heterogeneous database migrations

Design and implement Aurora PostgreSQL environments using Infrastructure-as-Code principles

Author comprehensive migration runbooks for execution by the broader engineering team

Deliver end-to-end heterogeneous database migration projects for enterprise customers

Perform production-grade database operations including backup/restore, parameter tuning, and failover testing

Drive schema conversion efforts from MS SQL Server to PostgreSQL/Aurora PostgreSQL

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth migration execution and knowledge transfer

Validate data integrity and performance benchmarks throughout the migration lifecycle

Provide technical leadership and mentorship on AWS database migration best practices
Requirements

10+ years of hands-on system engineering experience

At least 1 year of relevant leadership experience

Expertise in AWS Database Migration Service (DMS), Schema Conversion Tool (SCT), and MGN
-
Deep proficiency in MS SQL Server and PostgreSQL (or Aurora PostgreSQL)

Background in production-grade database operations, including backup/restore, parameter tuning, and failover testing

Skills in Infrastructure-as-Code for database resources using Terraform and CloudFormation

Showcase of authored or contributed migration runbooks for enterprise customers
-
Proven capability to deliver heterogeneous database migration projects end-to-end
-
Proficiency in English at an Upper-Intermediate level (B2) or higher
