Mechanical Designer – Job Description
A Mechanical Designer designs mechanical parts, equipment, and systems using CAD tools. They ensure designs meet functional requirements, safety standards, and manufacturing constraints.
Key Responsibilities
- Create 2D and 3D models of mechanical components using CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or CATIA.
- Prepare technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications for manufacturing.
- Collaborate with mechanical engineers and manufacturing teams to refine product designs.
- Create BOM, Built to design.
- Perform design calculations and simulations to ensure performance and durability.
- Select materials, components, and manufacturing methods.
- Revise designs based on testing results, feedback, or cost considerations.
- Maintain documentation and version control of design files.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, PTC Creo).
- Understanding of mechanical design principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and schematics.
