Minimum Experience
10–15 years of relevant experience* in industrial plant operations, with strong hands-on experience in Common ME (Mechanical & Electrical), Spray Dryer, Boiler, utilities, and process plant operations.
Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced and technically strong Unit Head to take overall responsibility for the operation, maintenance, performance, safety, and compliance of Common ME, Spray Dryer, Boiler, and associated utility systems at the project/site.
The Senior Engineer will be responsible for leading the operations and maintenance team, ensuring maximum plant availability, optimizing energy and utility consumption, maintaining equipment reliability, and ensuring compliance with all applicable safety and statutory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
1. Overall Unit Management
* Take complete responsibility for the day-to-day operation and performance of Common ME, Spray Dryer, Boiler, and associated utility systems.
* Plan, coordinate, and supervise all operational and maintenance activities.
* Ensure smooth, reliable, and uninterrupted plant operations.
* Monitor production, utility consumption, equipment performance, and operational efficiency.
* Establish and implement SOPs, work instructions, and operational standards.
2. Spray Dryer Operations
* Oversee the complete operation and performance of the Spray Dryer system.
* Monitor temperature, pressure, feed rate, moisture, product quality, and energy consumption.
* Ensure optimum operating parameters and maximum dryer efficiency.
* Identify operational abnormalities and take timely corrective action.
* Coordinate preventive and breakdown maintenance of spray dryer equipment.
* Drive initiatives for reduction in fuel, steam, power, and other utility consumption.
3. Boiler & Utility Management
* Ensure safe and efficient operation of Boilers and associated utility systems.
* Monitor boiler pressure, temperature, fuel consumption, steam generation, water quality, and efficiency.
* Ensure proper operation of boiler auxiliaries, pumps, blowdown systems, feedwater systems, and related equipment.
* Coordinate boiler maintenance, statutory inspections, and safety requirements.
* Ensure compliance with applicable boiler regulations and statutory requirements.
* Optimize fuel and energy consumption while maintaining safe operating conditions.
4. Common ME – Mechanical & Electrical
* Lead the Common Mechanical & Electrical (ME) operations and maintenance team.
* Ensure maximum availability and reliability of mechanical and electrical equipment.
* Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
* Supervise breakdown maintenance and ensure minimum equipment downtime.
* Monitor equipment health and identify potential failures.
* Coordinate with engineering and maintenance teams for major repairs, modifications, and installations.
* Maintain critical spare-parts inventory and ensure timely availability.
5. Team & Manpower Management
* Lead, train, and develop operations and maintenance personnel.
* Allocate manpower and responsibilities according to operational requirements.
* Monitor team performance, discipline, productivity, and safety compliance.
* Conduct regular toolbox meetings and operational reviews.
* Build a strong culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
6. Safety & Compliance
* Ensure strict implementation of EHS, fire & safety, and operational safety procedures.
* Ensure safe handling and operation of boilers, spray dryers, electrical systems, rotating equipment, and other utilities.
* Conduct regular safety inspections and ensure timely closure of observations.
* Ensure statutory inspections, permits, licenses, and compliance requirements are maintained.
* Investigate incidents, identify root causes, and implement corrective/preventive actions.
7. Cost & Efficiency Management
* Monitor and control operating and maintenance costs.
* Optimize consumption of fuel, steam, electricity, water, and other utilities.
* Identify opportunities for energy conservation and process improvement.
* Prepare annual operating and maintenance budgets.
* Control unnecessary breakdowns, wastage, and equipment-related expenses.
8. Reporting & Management Coordination
* Prepare and review daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports.
* Report plant performance, maintenance status, utility consumption, breakdowns, safety issues, and major operational concerns to the MD.
* Provide technical recommendations and improvement proposals to management.
* Coordinate with vendors, contractors, consultants, government authorities, and other stakeholders as required.
Educational Qualification
* B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering / Chemical Engineering / Electrical Engineering or a relevant engineering discipline.
* Relevant technical certifications in Boiler Operation, Utilities, Maintenance, or Industrial Safety will be an added advantage.
Experience
* Minimum 10–15 years of relevant industrial experience.
* Strong hands-on experience in *Boiler, Spray Dryer, Utilities, Common ME, Mechanical & Electrical Maintenance, and process plant operations*.
* Experience in managing a complete plant/unit and leading large technical teams is highly preferred.
* Experience in industrial manufacturing, chemical, environmental, waste management, or process industries will be an added advantage.

Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be a senior technical and operational leader with 10–15 years of industrial experience, capable of independently managing Common ME, Spray Dryer, Boiler, and utility operations, leading multidisciplinary teams, solving complex technical issues, and delivering safe, reliable, and cost-effective plant performance.
Pay: ₹200,000.00 - ₹900,000.00 per year
